Alnico is an alloy that contains varying amounts of Aluminium, Nickel and Cobalt as well as other metals. Typically, Alnico formulas have very high temperature capabilities, up to 540˚C.  They are not as powerful as other types of magnet and lose their magnetism with time.

Alnico has a classic metallic appearance, and can be made with quite complicated pole structures depending on the purpose of the magnet.  Traditional Horseshoe and Bar magnets are usually Alnico.  Many purpose specific designs are available on request.
